GMERS Medical College, Porbandar
GMERS Medical College, Porbandar was established in 2022 under the Gujarat Medical Education and Research Society (GMERS), Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Gujarat — the first medical college in Porbandar district. It received its Letter of Permission from the National Medical Commission (NMC), New Delhi on 18 August 2022, and is affiliated to Bhakta Kavi Narsinh Mehta University (BKNMU), Junagadh.
The college offers the MBBS programme with an annual intake of 100 students (85% Gujarat State Quota, 15% All India Quota, admission via NEET-UG), on a 30-acre campus with academic buildings, hostels and recreational facilities. Its teaching hospital is the Civil Hospital, Porbandar, a 330-bed tertiary care facility with ICU, ICCU, NICU, blood bank, radiology and a full range of clinical specialties.
