Who I Am

I've spent decades in technology, but for me it has never been just about writing code. It's about understanding the business problem behind the requirement, and building the right thing.

I'm an IT professional and technology entrepreneur with experience across software engineering, solution architecture, cloud, infrastructure, automation and enterprise systems. My journey started with programming and gradually evolved into architecture, integrations, engineering leadership, governance, process design and technology strategy.

I've worked across technologies including .NET / C#, Microsoft Azure, AWS, APIs and enterprise integrations, with an ongoing interest in AI-assisted development and the infrastructure behind AI-enabled systems. A big part of my work has been building technology practices from the ground up: the standards, governance, workflows and automation that help teams work well as organizations grow.

The Journey

From Code to Company-Building

It started with programming

My journey began with software development, and gradually grew into solution architecture, cloud, integrations and engineering leadership.

Two startups, from the ground up

I've been part of the founding team at two startups, joining at the very earliest stages: a founder at one, and a key early member at another, later earning equity. We started with limited resources and no shortage of talent and belief, and I learned that building the technology is only one part of building a company. You also have to establish the foundations around it.

Building engineering practices

I've helped shape technology direction, architecture, products, development processes, governance frameworks, Git and documentation standards, security practices and the automation teams need to grow.

Automation & AI, today

My recent focus is how AI can become part of the broader engineering lifecycle, from requirements and architecture through development, testing, documentation, governance and operations, used where it makes teams genuinely more capable.

A technically impressive system isn't necessarily a good solution. Good technology sits at the intersection of People + Process + Technology + Business; and sometimes the best solution is simply to keep it simple.

Before technology taught me how to build, my father taught me how to live and work — to stay grounded, and to carry those values through everything I do.

My Father — Musa Qasim Shivani

His principles, his simplicity, his ethics and his values have always inspired me, more than any technology or title ever could. He showed me that how you do your work matters just as much as the work itself.

There's also an interesting connection in our family names: my name comes from my grandfather, and my father's name comes from his grandfather. It was simply a family choice that continued across generations, and I find it a meaningful little connection to our roots and the generations before us.

I'm the youngest in the family, and very close to all of them; it's a background where family, values and connection to your place are held close.

Why I Built This

From a Brother's Idea

PorbandarOnline brings together the things that matter most to me: technology, entrepreneurship, family and a connection to Porbandar. The original idea came from my brother, Yusuf Shivani, with my brother Abdul Qadir Shivani part of it too. Yusuf gifted me the domain, and I took the initiative to transform his simple static website into the platform it's becoming today.

It isn't something I built because there was a business requirement. I chose to build it because it was connected to where we come from.

A project born from a brother's idea, carried forward with another brother's effort, for the city we call our own.
